RESERVA SELVA ETERNA
Our Goals
To protect, connect, and restore the last remnants of tropical flooded rainforest and the endemic or threatened species of southern Ecuador, safeguarding their extraordinary biodiversity and promoting a conservation model that integrates local communities as guardians of the territory.
At Selva Eterna, we believe that conserving the Amazon is not only an ecological responsibility but also a commitment to a just, sustainable, and nature-harmonious global future. That’s why we work to:
- Halt biodiversity loss through research and monitoring of forests and umbrella or bioindicator species.
- Strengthen territorial management in the face of threats such as hunting and deforestation, promoting ecological connectivity and coordinated actions with local and environmental authorities to enhance control and surveillance.
- Promote education and awareness actions that empower local communities to understand and protect their biodiversity.
- Promote sustainable solutions that improve community well-being without destroying the forest or degrading wetlands and rivers.
- Implement a scientific station that fosters research to understand and protect biodiversity and the cultural aspects of local indigenous communities.
